Frequently Asked Questions
Note: For additional art database help please email Metis Development.
- Step 1: Install MyODBC
- Go to: http://dev.mysql.com/downloads/connector/odbc/3.51.html and download the Driver Installer (MSI)
- Install the downloaded application.
- Step 2: Configure MyODBC
- To create a new ODBC connection:
- Open the Control Panel on the Windows machine.
- Double-click the ODBC Data Sources 32-bit icon.
- Click the tab User DSN.
- Click the button Add.
- Select MySQL in the screen Create New Data Source and click the Finish button.
- The MySQL Driver default configuration screen is shown. See your email from Metis Development for how to Fill in the Various Fields in the ODBC Administrator Program.
- If this screen is not shown through the Control Panel, there is an incompatability error between Filemaker and MyODBC. Please backup, uninstall Filemaker and uninstall MyODBC and then shut down. Then reinstall MyODBC, check that you can see it through the Control Panel and then reinstall Filemaker. This will not affect your Filemaker database.
- Step 3: Configure upload script
- Click this link to download the upload script.
- Configure the variables. See your email from Metis Development for how to configure the variables on lines 69-74.
- Step 4: Configure folders on computer
- Create a folder called images in the Art Database directory, all of the images for the website are stored there. Make a note of the folder location and enter it into the website upload script.
- Update Website
- Have you purchased the website plug-in?
- Artwork Page: Find the artwork(s) to add to the website and select "Available on Web";
- Repeat this step for every artwork that you want to add to the website;
- Reports Page: Select Functions -> Update Website;
